Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This was a nice quiet spot for lunch. The wedding soup reminds me of Big Jim's and my server was very friendly and helpful. He recommended I try the prosciutto and fried greens sandwich and it was excellent. It comes on this huge, pillowy focaccia with herbs on it. I am still thinking about this sandwich !"
"My friends and I were doing a scavenger hunt for a friend’s birthday, and one of the challenges was to eat pasta at this place. We asked the owner how fast he could make the simplest plate of pasta, for which he whipped up this pasta in this lovely red sauce. Upon trying to pay, he didn’t charge us and said to come back for some beer or drinks. He was super kind despite us being kind of annoying with our request. The patrons were also really nice, asking us about our hunt! I therefore recommend this place to you to support the owner!! Thanks for cheering us on in our scavenger hunt!!!"
"Service was fantastic! Our waitress was great. Food was good and came out quick. You have to walk through the bar to get to the dining room which feels a little weird being eyeballed by people sitting at the bar. Bartender was very welcoming though! A little pricey."
"I haven't been here in about 20 years. This used to be our family's go to place when I was growing up. Tonight we stopped in to give it a try again. I have to say that it was an evening of nostalgia and great food. The meat lasagna was almost exactly as I remembered it. The wedding soup... same. Even the crusty bread took me back to a time in the late 80s and 90s when this place was always booming. The decor has changed and for the better, but the service, the food and the happiness I relived tonight was all the same for me."
"New to the area and trying out restaurants. This place hit all the things I wanted. Server was, kind, checking in, refilled waters constantly, offered to make us fresh coffee to go along with our dessert. The cost of dinner was appropriate for the amount of food we ordered. Everything we ate was delicious."
"Classic Italian Bar and Restaurant. One of the few left in Little Italy. Great Italian food that tastes like Grandma's cooking. The owner Jamie is usually around to make sure your visit is top notch. Also included a nice bar areas with TVs to watch sports."
"I ordered the pesto sauce w linguine noodles + a salmon filet and it was amazingggg, stellar home cooked Italian food. Locally owned Italian food worth the stop! Portions are large + the bread is amazing too. Simple yet satisfying! Also our server Jill was so fast + attentive + kind!"
"I went this past Sunday evening on a whim for dinner. The gentleman who greeted me (also the bartender, busser, and manager by the looks of it - he was a champ!) was so friendly and welcoming. My server was very sweet as well, and very composed considering the volume of diners she was serving! Looking at the menu, the prices do seem a little high, but the portion was huge, enough for two people, and came with a cup of an amazing homestyle Italian wedding soup. I wish I’d gotten a picture of the plate. I had the ziti - the sauce was delicious, not too heavy, and very flavorful. I came in starving and left stuffed. I will definitely be back!"
